B.C.’s Dreena Burton puts out vegan e-cookbook Plant-Powered 15

Plant-Powered 15

Plant-Powered 15 is Dreena Burton’s fifth cookbook.

You might already have one (or four) of Dreena Burton’s vegan cookbooks on your bookshelf. Since 2001, the White Rock resident has authored The Everyday Vegan; Vive le Vegan!; Eat, Drink & Be Vegan; and Let Them Eat Vegan!

Burton (who will speak at Portland’s Vida Vegan Con 2013 in May) has just come out with her fifth cookbook, and it’s an e-book. Plant-Powered 15 features—yep—15 recipes that are oil-free and use whole foods. They include Mac-nificent, Sticky Almond Blondies, and Umami Sun-Dried Tomato and Almond Burgers.

Green Goddess Dressing

Green Goddess Dressing is one of the recipes in Plant-Powered 15. (Dreena Burton on Facebook)

While Burton’s previous cookbooks have been printed by Arsenal Pulp Press and Da Capo Press, Plant-Powered 15 is self-published. The e-book contains photos by Toronto’s Nicole Axworthy, who herself is the coauthor of a vegan dessert e-cookbook called Tiny Treats.

You can buy Plant-Powered 15 on Burton’s website, Plant-Powered Kitchen. The price is US$6.95.
