Metro Vancouver has registered its first vegan restaurant opening of 2013.

Vegan Pizza House has started up a second location at 15565 Marine Drive in White Rock. According to a January 30 post on Facebook, the new spot has the same menu and hours as the original location. It’s the only vegan eatery in the City by the Sea.

In May 2011, Vegan Pizza House opened the region’s first vegan pizzeria at 2119 Kingsway in Vancouver. My favourite pizzas from there are the Vegetarian Special (mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, pineapple, and olives) and the All Dress (vegan ham, mushrooms, pineapple, and extra cheese).

Both locations are open Sunday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Delivery within a 10-kilometre radius is available after 4 p.m. (with a minimum order of $14 and a delivery charge of $2 for each five kilometres).
