10 amazing vegan eats in Portland

Sure, Portland’s not actually Utopia. But it certainly seems like paradise when you’re browsing at Powell’s City of Books, strolling across the Hawthorne Bridge, hiking the Wildwood Trail in Forest Park, and—most importantly—sampling the vegan eats at restaurants, food carts, and bakeries around the city.

During the past year, I was lucky enough to spend two weekends in the vegan capital of North America. Here’s a quick look back at 10 memorable meals in PDX (host city for the upcoming Vida Vegan Con 2013), complete with grainy Instagram pics.

1. Vegan French toast breakfast
