Vancouver Vegan Prom returns in 2013

Vancouver Vegan Prom

Next year’s Vancouver Vegan Prom will have a superhero theme.

Back in November 2011, around 130 people turned up at the WISE Hall (1882 Adanac Street) for the inaugural Vancouver Vegan Prom. With its thrift-store formal theme, the event featured food, drinks, dancing, a raffle, and a photo booth—and was a rocking good time.

Although the organizers of the vegan prom decided to take a break this year, they shared some big news earlier this week. On October 24, they announced that the second prom will take place on March 9, 2013, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Once again, it’ll be a licensed event (19 years of age or older) at the WISE Hall.

As for this year’s theme, the prom’s Facebook page says: “Are you ready to unleash your vegan super powers in 2013? Either in costume or in your own clothes, come to Vancouver’s second Vegan Prom dressed as the vegan superhero you are.” Tickets will go on sale “soon” for what’s sure to be the city’s vegan event of the year.
